Fall officially starts September 22nd this year. So what better way to kick off the month of September than to share the tabletop trends for Fall ’22?
What will you see out and about when shopping this year?
What trends do you want to jump on board with, and which ones will you pass on?
I create this post quarterly, as that’s when you tend to see shifts in products and trends in stores and online.
I’ve checked out Target, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, World Market, and a handful of other stores to gather and summarize this information for you.

Overall for Fall, I’ve noticed that tabletop items are still a little chunky and comfy. For the most part, they’re not delicate or refined.
The overall vibe is still a casual table setting.
Color for Fall 2022
I didn’t see a dominant color for Fall. Rather a combination of dark orange, dark blues, tans and dark grey.
The colors fall within the earthy tones. Not bright or vibrant. With Fall comes a sense of coziness, and I feel that’s what these colors are emulating.

Table Linens
Popular colors for table linens this Fall are burnt orange, navy, tans and dark grey.
You will find napkins, table runners and tablecloths in these colors. You will also find them in gingham and plaids, or with fringe.
I’ve seen a resurgence of cocktail napkins this Fall. Most likely due to diy drink stations being trendy.
Dinnerware trend for Fall ’22
With Fall, colors tend to get darker, which is true with the dinnerware trend this season.
I found dishes in dark blue, rust and tan. Very earthy and cozy feeling. The organic shape is still very popular and can be found in just about every store.
For fun, colorful dishes, there appears to be a trend in mismatched Italian-inspired patterns. I saw them both at World Market and Pottery Barn.
Drinking Glasses
Etched drinking glasses, whether stemless, or with stems, are very popular, and on the rise for Fall ’22. They tend to either have a geometric or nature-inspired pattern. All are gorgeous!
This Fall, rounded square-bottom wine glasses continue to be on-trend.
I’m not seeing as many colored glasses as last season. They’re mostly clear glasses.
Trending Metal for Fall ’22
This Fall, copper is the highlighted metal.
Many places I found copper buckets, bowls, and trays. The bright orange of copper plays well with the trendy Fall colors.
Super pretty!
Vases
Available in sizes from bud vases to large vases, the organic shaped, clear colored vases dominate this season. They look amazing paired with organic-shaped dishes on your tabletop!
Flatware
Trending flatware for Fall ’22 has clean, simple lines. It’s not ornate or with a lot of detail. The emerging flatware sets have a comfortable feeling about them.
Fall ’22 Tabletop Trends For Fun
There are SO MANY symbols that are associated with Fall, and the holidays during the Fall months. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and sucked into trendy tabletop pieces.
But the one that really stuck out to me was the black cauldron bowls. They’re fun and useful. (I can even see using them for St. Patrick’s Day as the pot-of-gold!)
I came across them in just about every store.
