There couldn’t be a more easy DIY patriotic pin.
I feel like it’s cheating to create this DIY post, but at the same time, I want to share with you how easy it is to do.
Memorial Day is coming up, and I need a little something to share with my guests.
So I thought making these pins for them to wear was a great idea.
They can also be worn for the 4th of July and Veterans Day.

How to Make a Memorial Day Pin
Step 1: Select the ribbon for your diy patriotic pins
I wouldn’t go wider than 1″.
I found this spool of ribbon at my local craft store.
Step 2: Cut your ribbon into 8″ lengths

Cut as many ribbon pieces as patriotic pins you will be making
Step 3: Form the ribbon for your easy diy patriotic pin
While holding one end of the ribbon, take the other end and loop it behind the first end.

Step 4: Add a star charm
For the star charm to lay down flat, I added a jump ring to the top of the charm

I then stuck the safety pin through the middle of the ribbon where it crossed over.

Before putting the safety pin through the other side, I slide the jump ring (with the charm attached) onto the safety pin.

Then I put the pin through the other side of the ribbon.

Voila!
A finished patriotic diy pin to be worn on Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or Veterans Day.
Note: You can also glue the ribbon pieces together, and then glue the charm onto the ribbon. I liked the flexibility of being able to remove the charm, which is why I connected it with the jump ring.
Check out how cute they look on my Memorial Day table setting.
