Dear Readers ~ won’t you join me for a bite at my Bridgerton inspired tablescape?
It has come to this author’s attention that a most exquisite tablescape, inspired by our beloved Bridgerton, has materialized in our midst. One can only imagine the scandals and secrets that shall unfold around such a sumptuous setting.
The ton’s elite have been summoned to partake in an evening of culinary delights and scintillating conversation.
Will you be among the fortunate few to grace this table with your presence?
Or will you find yourself the subject of whispers, conspicuously absent from the social event of the season?
Choose wisely, dear readers, for in the game of dinner parties, one either triumphs gloriously or faces the bitter sting of regret.

With the latest season of Bridgerton fresh on my mind, I couldn’t resist giving my dining table a touch of Regency-era glamour.
I bet some of you are planning themed dinner parties or afternoon teas with the same vibe, so I’m here to help you create a table setting that’s as opulent and elegant as the ones we all adore on the show.
How to Create a Bridgerton-Inspired Tablescape
1. Finding Your Inspiration
The first rule of creating any tablescape is to find that one perfect piece that sparks joy and inspiration.
This could be anything from a set of dishes to a tablecloth, or even a decorative accent like candlesticks.
Once you’ve found that perfect piece, you can build the rest of your design around it.
For me, it was a set of floral plates I discovered at an estate sale.

While they may not be authentic to the 1800s, they capture the essence of Bridgerton’s aesthetic, with their delicate pinks, greens, and blues.
2. The Foundation: Choose the Perfect Tablecloth
In my mind, Bridgerton always features elegant tablecloths—so that was a must for this table setting.
I brought my inspiration piece (the plates) with me as I shopped and found the perfect tablecloth at Williams Sonoma. The colors in the cloth perfectly matched the hues of my plates, bringing a cohesive feel to the whole look.
*Pro tip: Always take your inspiration piece with you when shopping to ensure everything coordinates perfectly!
3. Elevate Your Bridgerton Inspired Table with Charger Plates
To ensure that the plates didn’t blend in too much with the tablecloth, I opted for silver charger plates.
If you haven’t used charger plates, it’s placed on the tablecloth and then the dinner plate goes on top of the charger plate.
Did you know charger plates were actually introduced in the 1800s? It’s these little historical touches that really bring a Bridgerton-inspired tablescape to life.
4. Layer in Additional Plates
No Bridgerton tablescape is complete without a full place setting.
Along with the dinner plates, I added bread plates and soup bowls to each setting, creating a rich, layered look.
Adding extra pieces like these instantly makes your table feel fuller and more opulent—just like on the show!

*Remember to align patterns on your dishes consistently across place settings – it’s these small details that elevate your tablescape from lovely to truly elegant.
5. Don’t Forget the Flatware
Next up is the flatware.
I used a mix of silver-plated knives, forks, and spoons that I’ve collected from estate sales over the years.
While it’s a bit of a hodgepodge, the ornate designs of the pieces work perfectly with the vintage elegance of a Bridgerton-inspired table.
6. Choose Your Glassware
For glassware, I went with three types: a water glass, a wine glass, and a champagne coupe.
This trio of glasses adds a level of sophistication, and the coupe glass in particular feels so fitting for the time period.

When setting the glasses, place the water glass at the top left of the knife, the wine glass just below it, and the champagne coupe to the right of the water glass, forming a triangle.
Don’t worry if you need to adjust your place settings as you go along to make room for everything—it’s all about finding what works best for your space.
7. Finish Your Bridgerton Tablescape with Napkins and Napkin Rings
For napkins, I chose dark pink ones that bring out the richer tones in my tablecloth.
To tie everything together, I used simple silver napkin rings.
Did you know napkin rings were also introduced in the 1800s?
I opted for a simple fold, letting the patterns and colors of the plates and tablecloth do most of the talking.

8. Complete the Look with a Regency Era Centerpiece
No Bridgerton-inspired table setting is complete without an elegant centerpiece.
I created a bouquet of roses and lilies, which were popular in the Regency era and placed them in a polished silver bowl.

This arrangement immediately adds that opulent, romantic touch I was going for.
To round out the centerpiece, I added two silver candelabras with tall white taper candles.
The candelabras belonged to my nana and bring that vintage charm to the table.

If you don’t have candelabras, you can often find them at secondhand stores for a great price. They may take a bit of polishing, but it’s worth it for the final look!
Embrace the Fantasy
Remember, Dear Readers, Bridgerton is more fantasy than historical accuracy. Don’t be afraid to mix periods or add your own modern twists.
The key is to capture the opulence, romance, and drama of the show in a way that feels true to you.

Creating this tablescape was such a joy, and I hope it inspires you to host your own Bridgerton-themed party.
Whether it’s for afternoon tea or a grand dinner party, your guests will surely be transported to the glittering world of the ton.
Until next time, may your tables be beautiful and your conversations scandalous!
