Are you planning to host a Super Bowl party this year? Are you sure you have everything you need to throw a fab Super Bowl party?
A party that your friends and family will enjoy and “won’t suck”?
Super Bowl parties obviously focus on the game and the two teams fighting for the championship Lombardi trophy.
Throwing a fun Super Bowl party is all about what you do to support your friends’ and family members’ ability to enjoy watching the game.
Maybe everyone will be cheering for the same team, or maybe your guests will be divided, with some rooting for one team, and some for the other team.
No matter how your guests are cheering, they all want to have a fun experience watching the Super Bowl game.
So, don’t stress. I’ve gotchya with a list of what you need to throw an amazing Super Bowl party.
5 Key Things You Need to Throw a Fab Super Bowl Party
#1 Seating is key for a Super Bowl Party
The number one thing you need to throw a Super Bowl party is enough seating for all of your guests. They need to easily be able to watch the game. After all, your guests came with the sole purpose to watch the game.
So make sure you have enough chairs, cushions, pillows, and stools for each “tush” you expect to come.
Not everyone will sit in a chair. Some will opt for the floor, as they will be closer to the TV. And others will prefer to stand, or constantly get up and down.
If you don’t have enough chairs or cushions, ask friends to bring folding chairs or stools.
Also, think about floor cushions or ottomans as a place for a guest to plop down on.
These “poufs” are a great option. Not only do they slightly resemble a football, but they also come unstuffed. So you can stuff them before the game, then unstuff and easily store them away after the game. They’re a great space-saving option.
#2 Cheering items add to the fun
Be sure and have fun “cheering” items for your guests.
I’m sure they will be yelling at the TV, and razing each other, but think how much more fun it will be with small foam fingers, pom-poms, and penalty flags that they can use.
You need cheering items to add to the fun of watching the Super Bowl.
#3 Drink station with beverage server and buckets
Let’s face it ~ Super Bowl parties are all about the beer. You’ve gotta have it. Beer and football go hand-in-hand.
To throw a fabulous Super Bowl party you must have a drink station. And not any ‘ol drink station. It must have a place (buckets or coolers) for cold beers, a separate holder for non-alcoholic drinks, and a beverage server for water, lemonade, or margaritas.
Don’t forget the cups and markers!
#4 Football theme and/or team color decorations
If you are wanting to throw a fab Super Bowl party you need to have decorations that represent football. Items that scream FOOTBALL. And better yet, if you have decor that supports one or both of the teams playing.
If you don’t have team-specific items, then find decorations in the teams’ colors. Get plates, napkins, and cups in the team colors and deck your space out with those colors.
Fun idea: you could split your room in half and decorate each side to represent one team. *You don’t need to relegate the guests to their team color’s side (haha!).
#5 Appetizer trays and bowls
Whether you’re providing all of the food, or if your guests are bringing dishes, make sure you have plenty of appetizer trays and bowls. I bet more than one guest will bring a bag of chips and a jar of salsa. Don’t leave them out like that. Throw them into spare dishes you have just for the occasion.
Your guests won’t say anything, but it sure looks a lot nicer when all of the food is in/on serving pieces. After all ~ it’s ALL about the presentation.
Make sure you have your bases covered and have all 5 of these key items you need to throw a fabulous Super Bowl party.
Go Team!
