Today, I’m sharing 3 easy, neutral table settings that you can recreate in no time, along with tips on how to personalize them with pops of color!
We all love a beautifully decorated table, but sometimes those elaborate tablescapes we see online can feel a little intimidating.
Complex DIY projects, overflowing floral arrangements, and hours of prep time?
Not exactly what we’re looking for when we want to create an inviting atmosphere for our friends and family.

What if I told you there’s a way to achieve stunning tablescapes without the hassle?
Today, I’m sharing 3 gorgeous neutral table settings that you can recreate in minutes, along with tips on how to personalize them
The Beauty of Neutral Tablescapes
The beauty of neutral tablescapes is their versatility. They act as a blank canvas that you can easily dress up or down depending on the occasion or your personal style.
Neutral colors offer a beautiful foundation for any occasion.
Plus, neutral tones tend to coordinate well with most existing décor, making them a safe bet that always looks polished.
Your Essential Place Setting
To create a cohesive look across all three tablescapes, I used the same basic place setting for each one. This includes:
- Dinner plate
- Salad plate
- Glasses
- Utensils
- Napkin
Then I switch things up with the centerpieces and tablecloths to create distinct looks!
Neutral Table Setting #1: Woven Placemats and Natural Elements
For the first tablescape, I started with beautiful woven placemats. These add a warm, natural feel and look fantastic on a wood table.
Placemats provide the perfect foundation for building your place settings.

Centerpiece Magic
I keep it simple and elegant with an elevated wooden bowl filled with faux neutral-colored flowers.
This adds a touch of softness without being too busy.
On either side of the bowl, I placed candlestick holders that matched the wood tones of the table and placemats.
Classic white candles complete the look.

Adding a Pop of Color
Want to personalize this look?
Here’s how!
Swap out the napkins for a brighter option and replace the candles and flowers with something that complements the new napkin color.

For example, yellow and green napkins could be paired with green candles and faux lemons in the bowl.
Easy, right?

Neutral Tablescape #2: Table Runner and Artful Centerpiece
My second tablescape ditches the placemats in favor of a light tan table runner.
This creates a completely different feel right away.

Centerpiece with Character
Instead of a traditional floral centerpiece, I used an art piece as the focal point.
A simple sculpture paired with matching candle holders adds a touch of elegance without being too fussy.

Color Customization
Want to add some personality?
Here’s your chance!

Simply swap out the candles and napkins!
Try chunky white and pink candles with pink and white gingham napkins for a fun and festive look.

Neutral Table Setting #3: Drop Cloth Tablecloth and Rustic Charm
This last table setting is all about a relaxed, rustic vibe.
I used a DIY drop cloth tablecloth as the base.
Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfectly crisp – a little imperfection adds to the charm!

Layering for Impact
I start with a piece of antique lace down the center of the table, like a runner.
Then, I added a white platter holding a beautiful floral arrangement.

Two small bowls filled with nuts or candies flank the platter, each with a lovely antique silver spoon for a touch of elegance.
A Splash of Color
Let’s transform this neutral tablescape!
Swap out the white platter for a blue patterned one.

Then replace the white napkins with blue ones and add blue and white napkin rings.
You can even switch out the glasses for a blue set for a truly cohesive look.
